Keith Ludeman

Chairman, HS1 Ltd

Keith is an experienced Non-Executive Director and Chairperson, with a strong industrial and commercial background.

He was appointed to the HS1 Ltd Board as Chairman designate in April 2018, having previously joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in September 2018.

Keith is currently Chairman at London Luton Airport and Bristol Water PLC, as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the London Transport Museum and Senior Independent Director of Eversholt Rail Group. He was previously Chairman of Aspin Group, TXM Plant and the Association of Train Operating Companies, and was also a Non-Executive Director of Interserve PLC.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and a fellow of the Institute of Railway Operators.

Keith was previously Group CEO of Go-Ahead Group and played a key role in introducing Southeastern high-speed services to HS1.

Keith began his career in transport by gaining experience with Greater Manchester Transport, Hong Kong Government, MVA and Burnley and Pendle Transport, before assuming Managing Director roles at London General Transport and later at Thameslink and Thames Trains.

Dyan Crowther

Chief Executive Officer, HS1 Ltd

Dyan has over 30 years’ experience in the rail industry, having worked in several senior director roles across Network Rail – where she was accountable for the West Coast Main Line - British Rail and Railtrack.  

Prior to joining HS1 Ltd in 2016, Dyan was the Chief Operating Officer at Govia Thameslink Railway, where she oversaw Southern’s integration with GTR.

She is currently a member of the British Transport Authority, Non-executive Director for East West Railway and a Trustee for Women in Rail.

Dyan has extensive Boardroom experience having spent five years on the Board of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, serving as a Board Trustee for Railway Children, as Vice Chair for the Railway Ball Charity Event and as an Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Dyan is also a member of the Chartered Institute for Marketing and Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Lucy Clarke-Bodicoat

General Counsel and Corporate Services Director, HS1 Ltd

Lucy is an experienced and respected senior legal professional with over 18 years’ experience as a solicitor.

Lucy is responsible for directing all legal activities, board governance and compliance procedures at HS1 Ltd. In addition, Lucy oversees procurement, contract management, human resources and risk management. Lucy is also part of the investor relations team at HS1 Ltd, having been involved in numerous refinancing projects and joint lead on the sale of HS1 in 2017.

Lucy has extensive experience in the rail industry, having previously acted as Senior Legal Advisor to Porterbrook Leasing, a UK rolling stock operating company, as well as advising rail clients during her time working in the private practice.

Away from her primary role at HS1 Ltd, Lucy acts as a mentor for individuals in the legal and infrastructure professions.

Lucy was named in the Lawyer Magazine Hot 100 List in 2014 and was ‘highly commended’ at the Lawyer Awards 2018 in the General Counsel of the Year category.

Mark Farrer

Chief Financial Officer (CFO), HS1 Ltd

Mark is an experienced and senior financial professional with over 15 years of experience in treasury management and commercial finance.

Mark joined HS1 Ltd in 2015 as Group Financial Controller. In his current role as Chief Financial Officer, Mark is responsible for the organisational oversight of Finance and IT and will take on responsibility for Regulation in 2020.

Prior to HS1 Ltd, Mark spent over 10 years at Diageo in a range of finance roles including Treasury, Financial Planning and Commercial Finance, working in London, Budapest, Singapore and Hong Kong. 

Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in 2004 and is also an Associate Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Wendy Spinks

Commercial Director, HS1 Ltd

Wendy is a senior commercial professional with over 19 years’ experience representing retail and commercial activities throughout major infrastructure capital projects.

As Commercial Director for HS1 Ltd, Wendy works closely with train operating companies, local stakeholders to each of the stations (St Pancras, Ebbsfleet, Stratford and Ashford) and leads the strategy for the commercial and retail ventures.

Alongside her role as Commercial Director, Wendy sits as Chair of Urban Partners,a voluntary business partnership for the Euston, King’s Cross and St Pancras area, as well Chair of Camden Business Board and member of Camden Women’s Forum.

Before joining HS1 Ltd in 2010, Wendy spent ten years working for BAA at Heathrow, overseeing retail operations for all five terminals, including the retail readiness for the Terminal 5 opening. She then spent four years as a Director at WPS Associates, a management consultancy with the Retail and Aviation industries.

Richard Thorp

Engineering Director, HS1 Ltd 

Richard has over 20 years’ experience in developing asset management capabilities for both UK main-line and high-speed railways.

As a chartered engineer, he is responsible for providing client leadership to HS1’s supply chain, fulfilling the Asset Stewardship objectives in the concession agreement and ensuring that HS1 Ltd continues to protect, enhance and grow the asset.

Prior to joining HS1 Ltd, Richard worked for Network Rail in several positions, including Route Asset Systems and Integrations Manager – leading the development of a combined asset management plan for Anglia route, Route Asset Manager (signals) and Head of Signalling Control and Communications Engineering.

Richard has previously held roles at Belfour Beatty Rail, working as Signalling Maintenance Manager at Waterloo station, and at Eurotunnel as a Signalling Group Leader.
