Commenting on today's rail policy announcement from Shadow Transport Secretary Louise Haigh MP, Robert Sinclair, CEO of HS1 said:
“The future of international rail travel is hugely exciting and we know that an impressive 77% of passengers would prefer to travel to Europe by train than by plane. We therefore welcome the commitment outlined in today’s announcement regarding open access which will provide more services and more choice for passengers.
“Offering more high speed rail travel options has enormous benefits for the environment and we look forward to continuing to provide reliable and sustainable services and unlocking the full potential of the high speed line to the Channel Tunnel.”
