HS1 achieves ISO 55001 certification

HS1 has achieved the internationally recognised ‘ISO 55001 certification’ which sets the framework for ensuring a long-term and safe running of the high-speed railway and its stations.

The certification has been attained for the 109km long high-speed line and the four stations along the route – including the iconic St Pancras International.

The ISO 55001 was achieved using the documents developed for HS1’s Periodic Review submission in May 2024 for Control Period 4 (CP4), showing a strong operational and safety performance over the last five-year period.

Additionally, Network Rail (High Speed) has extended their ISO 55001 certification to include all routes, stations, and depots under their management.

The collaborative nature of these certification achievements and the ongoing ISO surveillance audits, for both organisations, adds a significant layer of assurance that management of the HS1 railway assets is best in class.
