The World Re-imagined

103 unique globes across the UK exploring the history, legacy and future of the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans through the work of incredible artists. Globes have been installed across the UK to create ten trails, including across seven London boroughs where you can explore and see for yourself the incredible art that has been inspired by the Journey of Discovery and the communities in which they are hosted. https://www.theworldreimagined.org/

The World Reimagined is a ground-breaking, UK art education project to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans and its impact on all of us so that we can make racial justice a reality, together. Supported by official presenting partner SKY, the project will see a trail of large Globe sculptures across seven cities including: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool City Region, London and Swansea.

From 13 August to 31 October 2022, the globes will be displayed across these cities, inspiring and galvanising communities to better understand what it means to be Black and British. Bringing to life the reality and impact of the Transatlantic Slave Trade by remembering the past, whilst still moving forward - celebrating the spirit and culture that has endured so much suffering. The trails are at the centre of Learning, Community and Heritage programmes that invite everyone to take part. https://www.theworldreimagined.org/

St. Pancras Globe

The globe at St Pancras is part of the Camden to Westminster Trail. This globe called 'Beneath The Surface' celebrates the contributions people of the African diaspora have made in Camden. The artists worked with the local community to develop a design that spoke to the local Black community.
