We're 'St. Pancreas' for the Day
For the third year running, we've teamed up with the charity Pancreatic Cancer UK, here's why.
Approximately 10,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year, yet pancreatic cancer remains underfunded with only 2.1% of UK cancer research spend being allocated towards pancreatic cancer annually, and unfortunately survival rates of the disease hasn't changed much in the last 50 years.
By partnering with Pancreatic Cancer UK, we aim to help raise awareness of the disease and support for the great work they do.
To kick-off we thought we'd play around with a common misspelling (...and mispronunciation) of the station's name, that's why for today only (21st Nov) we've changed our name to 'St. Pancreas International'... catchy! The fantastic Pancreatic Cancer UK team will be in the station from 11am collecting donations and talking more about the work they do. You may even be lucky enough to pick up a free travel card holder.
If you're passing through St. Pancreas in the evening, be sure to stick around to see the very talented Popchoir. Fusing their love of singing with pop music, the Popchoir will be performing some guaranteed foot-tappers between 5-7pm.
Last year, kind donations from commuters and station visitors raised nearly £3,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a fantastic sum of money. Let's see if we can beat it this year...
